Installation Requirements: Chili!Soft ASP for HP-UX

This topic lists the hardware and software requirements for running Chili!Soft ASP 3.6 for HP-UX. It also lists the additional software, such as databases and tools, that Chili!Soft ASP supports.

Hardware and Software Requirements

This section describes the hardware and software requirements for installing and running Chili!Soft ASP 3.6 for HP-UX on your server.

Hardware

The minimum hardware configuration for your system is as follows:

· 128 MB RAM (256 or higher recommended)

· Pentium class processor (x86)

· 200 MB free hard disk space for the bundle installation

· 130 MB free hard disk space for the custom installation

Operating System

You can install and run Chili!Soft ASP 3.6 for HP-UX on a computer running the following operating system:

· HP-UX 11 (32-bit)

Web Server

For a custom installation of Chili!Soft ASP 3.6 for HP-UX, you must be running one of the following Web servers (the bundle installation includes Apache Web Server 1.3.12 DSO):

· Apache Web Server 1.3.12 DSO, NDSO

· Apache Web Server 1.3.14 DSO

· iPlanet/Netscape Enterprise 4.0 SP5

· Zeus Web Server 3.3.7

Software

Perl 5.005_03 or later must be running on the computer to which you are installing Chili!Soft ASP 3.6.

Supported Software

This topic lists additional software supported and/or installed by Chili!Soft ASP 3.6 for HP-UX.

Database

Chili!Soft ASP 3.6 for HP-UX includes ODBC drivers for the following databases:

· dBase 5

· Informix 7,9

· Microsoft Access*

· Microsoft SQL Server 6.5*

· Microsoft SQL Server 7.0

· Oracle 8

· Sybase 11

ODBC drivers are installed automatically by the Chili!Soft ASP setup program. Following installation, you must configure the drivers for the data source being used. For more information, see "Configuring a Database" in "Chapter 3: Managing Chili!Soft ASP."

* Note

To provide remote database connectivity with Microsoft Access and Microsoft SQL Server 6.5 databases, Chili!Soft ASP 3.6 ships with the client portion of the Merant SequeLink 4.51a software. You also must download install the server portion of this software from Chili!Soft. For more information, see "Configuring SequeLink" in "Chapter 3: Managing Chili!Soft ASP."

Java Runtime Environment

To enable Chili!Beans, Chili!Soft ASP 3.6 for HP-UX installs the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.2.2_07 on the computer running the ASP Server. ChiliBeans enables you to use Java class files as components called from VBScript or JScript. For more information, see "Chili!Beans Component Reference" in "Chapter 5: Developer's Reference."

Microsoft FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions

Microsoft FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions are included in the bundle installation of Chili!Soft ASP 3.6. They provide services to the Web server that work in conjunction with Chili!Soft ASP to provide FrontPage functionality to computers that are not running Microsoft Windows NT/2000 and Internet Information Services (IIS). For more information, see "Installing FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions" in "Chapter 3: Managing Chili!Soft ASP."
